We find ourselves continuing to wait during a season of waiting.
It’s strange this week to have the emotions of yearning and waiting so deeply ingrained into a time of year where the first and second comings of Jesus are remembered.
For many of us it has quieted the more superficial elements of the season and drawn us very deeply into a desire that is focussed on his actual coming, rather than on celebrations of his coming, if I’ve made the difference clear.
We want more of him, not the celebrating of him.
Those of you who have been following Jozua’s situation by this blog and through social media links have been reading my summaries of messages received from his parents.
You’ve been missing out on an amazing personal testimony.
So, here’s today’s message from Jozua’s mother.

Hi everyone. Thank you all so much for all your well wishes, cards, prayers and encouraging stories. They are all greatly appreciated and give us courage and strength!
Yesterday has been a relatively quiet day. ‘Brainrest’ for everyone. Roger [one of the church elders] has been with us and has been with Jozua most of the afternoon whilst we spent some time together with Anne, David and Naomi [their three other children]. They seem to be doing well at the moment, but need us to be around to work through things.
Jozua’s lungs ‘have recovered quicker than expected’ (that’s what happens when you pray) and he’s only on 30% oxygen. Today will hopefully be an exiting day as they are planning to wean the sedation. I’m a bit torn between enthusiasm, hope and reservedness, which probably is driven by self preservation. I’m so eager to see what God has in store, but am aware at the same time His will may differ from our expectations. We’ll leave it in God’s hands and either way. So be strong and courageous, the Lord of the ages holds all his little ones safe by His side. Please continue to pray that God’s name be glorified and that it will be to the advance of God’s kingdom.
